Operation Noah ‘ambassadors’

The Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.' Luke 10.1-3

We are seeking to build up a large team of ‘ambassadors’ – volunteers who work in pairs in the vanguard of this spiritual and environmental revolution. With your help, Operation Noah will galvanise churches and key people in your area to turn the Ash Wednesday Declaration into action. We also need help to establish a secure base of individual donors to ensure this important work can continue into the future – we receive no funding from the Christian denominations.

As an ‘ambassador’ you would become a valued member of the Operation Noah team. The role would be tailored to your skills and interests, but could include:

  • Speaking to congregations, during or after services, about what they can do to change attitudes and take action with Operation Noah.

  • Encouraging and supporting ‘energisers’ from congregations to promote action with their fellow worshippers and in their local communities.

  • Seeking out opportunities for promoting action with Operation Noah with both congregations and local denominational structures.

  • Helping to build support for Operation Noah’s important work, practically and financially.

  • Identifying people who might be willing to make substantial donations to enable us to sustain and develop our work.

  • Finding other people who could act as ambassadors for the message of Operation Noah.

  • Helping Operation Noah create new materials and develop projects and skills to fulfil its aims.

In return we will offer you:

  • An introductory session so you can find out more, and explore with us how you can help.

  • An annual training event, exploring the Ash Wednesday Declaration and how churches and individuals can respond.

  • A dedicated on-line toolkit for your work, with suggestions for action, outline talks and presentations, advice on responding to ‘sceptics’ and other useful material.

  • Contact with a fellow ambassador who can act as a buddy, helping you plan, deliver and follow up what you do.

  • Regularly updated campaign initiatives and resources on topical climate issues.

  • Materials such as banners and information and fundraising leaflets.

  • Help from Operation Noah when you need it.

Operation Noah believes that attitudes and action on climate change are ready to change. We aim to have 72 ambassadors in place to make the transformation happen. Could you be one of them?

Get in touch (email us at ambassadors@operationnoah.org): we will be delighted to explore with you how we can be part of it together.
