The UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) – also known as Rio+20 – took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 20-22 June 2012. The event marked the 20th anniversary of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro, hence the shortened name Rio+20.
