"Uncontrolled climatic change has the potential to make the planet uninhabitable for humans. Even if we avoid this catastrophic outcome, climate change could wreck economies and hurt the poorest countries and the poorest communities the worst. At the same time, many of the actions needed to tackle climate change – such as reducing energy use and switching to cleaner forms of power generation – have the potential to improve our quality of life, and should be adopted in any case."
