We’re opening up conversations about how church-owned land use is impacting climate and nature. Following on from the Open Letter to Church denomination leaders that over 500 supporters signed in June 2025, our new postcard action focuses on regional church bodies, many of whom manage significant areas of land. Experience from past campaigns has shown that when dioceses and regional bodies take action, it can ripple out and influence national change.
The postcard can be addressed to regional church leaders with influence over land use i.e. diocesan secretaries or district chairs. They’re perfect for use on a stall, at a service, or as a group activity following a discussion on climate and nature.
Signees are invited to:
- make a personal pledge such as to plant a tree, support peatland protection, or buy from a nature-friendly farmer. These reflect the core priorities of our Church Land Use campaign which highlights growing trees, protecting peat and supporting farmers to reduce emissions as three effective land-based climate solutions.
- call on their church to set ambitious, measurable targets for sustainable land use. The reverse of the postcard includes space to add a personal message alongside the main request: reducing emissions and promoting nature on church land (as outlined in our Church Land Use Vision).

We hope these postcards give you and your congregations a powerful and practical tool to push for the ambitious changes needed to use churches’ land to care for creation. Please use the form below to order a free set of postcards for your church / group.
If you’re not sure who your regional church leader is, we’ll gladly help you find the right contact, and we’re here to answer any other questions along the way. Take a look at this template cover letter to adapt and send with your completed postcards, and some other useful resources for this action.
