Our patrons are Bishop David Atkinson, Professor Michael Northcott and Ann Pettifor. We are grateful to them for their support.

Ann Pettifor

Ann Pettifor was Campaigns Director with Operation Noah from 2006 to 2009. Ann achieved a high profile for Operation Noah, with a strong focus on advocacy.

Ann is director of Policy Research in Macroeconomics (PRIME). She is a member of the Green New Deal group, and co-author of a number of the group’s key reports. She is the author of Just Money: how society can break the despotic power of finance (Commonwealth Publishing) and was a leader and co-founder of the international Jubilee 2000 campaign (‘Drop the Debt’) from 1994 until 2001.

Michael Northcott

Michael Northcott is Professor of Religion and Ecology at the Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada, in Indonesia.

He is author of a number of books including, The Environment and Christian Ethics (Cambridge University Press), A Moral Climate: The Ethics of Global Warming (Orbis), A Political Theology of Climate Change (SPCK) and, with Peter Scott, Systematic Theology and Climate Change (Routledge). He has been visiting professor at Claremont School of Theology, Dartmouth College, Duke University, Flinders University, and the University of Malaya.

Bishop David Atkinson

Rt Revd Dr David Atkinson, now retired as Assistant Bishop, Diocese of Southwark, was formerly Fellow and Chaplain of Corpus Christi College, Oxford; Canon Chancellor of Southwark Cathedral; Archdeacon of Lewisham; and Bishop of Thetford.

David has taught theology in Oxford, lectured in the USA and India and written a number of books on Christian Ethics and Pastoral Theology, including, Renewing the Face of the Earth: A theological and pastoral response to climate change (Canterbury Press). He served as a board member of Operation Noah for several years, during which time he led the theology group that created ‘Climate Change and the Purposes of God: A Call to the Church’ (2012). David is married to Sue and has two adult children and eight grandchildren.
