Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, a membership organisation representing over 40 church denominations and many Christian charities, have today endorsed the Green Investment Declaration and welcomed it as a “a valuable resource for churches in their engagement with issues of climate justice.”
The Green Investment Declaration is an initiative by Operation Noah and JustMoney Movement to support churches and faith institutions increase investments in climate solutions.
“Climate justice is a priority area of concern and collaboration for our members recognising the urgency of the current situation and the need to stand in solidarity with those most vulnerable to the impacts of climate breakdown and with future generations”, said Dr Nicola Brady, CTBI General Secretary.
“The Green Investment Declaration offers positive and impactful actions that can be taken by faith communities, as well as providing further opportunities to speak about how our faith motivates and inspires us in this work.”
Early signatories to the Declaration have included Quakers in Britain, Diocese of Truro and Society of the Holy Child Jesus.
