Launching the CST Toolkit: Investing for a Sustainable Future

2 April 2025

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new toolkit designed to empower Catholic organisations to align their investment strategies with Catholic Social Teaching (CST) principles. This resource is a practical guide for finance directors, treasurers, trustees, and committee members within Catholic dioceses, organisations, congregations, and religious orders.

Catholic Social Teaching is a powerful framework for addressing the pressing challenges of our time, particularly the climate crisis. Grounded in the Gospel and articulated in papal writings like Pope Leo XIII’s Rerum Novarum and Pope Francis’s Laudato Si’, CST emphasises our interconnectedness and calls for responsible stewardship of creation. As the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report highlights, the impacts of climate change are already being felt globally, disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations.

Why This Toolkit is Different

The toolkit is designed for various uses, including personal study, group reflection, and corporate engagement. Accompanying materials, such as webinars and short videos, enhance accessibility. For example, the “See, Judge, Act” framework can be implemented within trustee meetings by reviewing a question from each section.
