Operation Noah attend the National Emergency Briefing on Thursday 27 November.
A powerful and sobering wake-up call took place at Westminster’s Central Methodist Hall on Thursday 27 November for a ‘first of its kind’ National Emergency Briefing. Operation Noah, along with hundreds of other organisations, politicians, artists, business, faith and civic leaders attended the briefing.

Leading experts in climate science, biodiversity, food, health, economics and national security delivered clear, evidence-based warnings of the dire impacts of climate change on all aspects of civil society and painted a picture of our shared future that demands urgent action.
Climate-related risks to the UK economy, society and security are now real and present, experts told delegates, along with clear calls for deep, systemic change including a swift transition away from fossil fuels, fundamentally changing our food and agricultural system and addressing the rapid decline in nature and biodiversity.
Alongside warnings about the cost of inaction, the presentations also set out the substantial benefits a transition would bring for our health, wellbeing, economy and to our natural environment.
What happens next?
The event is being produced into a film, presented by Chris Packham. Once that is published, we will be encouraging churches to share the film with their congregations and contacts.
In the meantime, we have been invited to sign a joint letter to the Prime Minister and leaders of the major media companies in the UK to highlight the legal mandate of their role in broadcasting in the situation of a national emergency, in accordance with The Communications Act 2003.
