Operation Noah is pleased to announce that the World Council of Churches (WCC) – a fellowship of 356 member Churches representing more than half a billion Christians – has endorsed our Green Investment Declaration which is calling on Churches and faith institutions around the world to invest in climate solutions.
In a statement released late last month by the World Council of Churches, Revd Dr Jerry Pillay, General Secretary, said, ‘The WCC strongly encourages churches to become signatories to the Declaration as a tangible expression of their commitment to addressing the climate emergency. The impacts of climate change are already being felt across the globe, with more frequent and severe natural disasters, widespread displacement, food insecurity, and prolonged droughts. Scientists warn that once critical climate tipping points are crossed, the resulting damage to economies and societies will be irreversible and catastrophic.’
